I've been fishing for trout in California for the past 45 years, so if you need some pointers, feel free to ask. Keep in mind that I haven't caught one since December two years ago, so what the hell do I know? Be careful Kandy, it's addictive. You've been warned.
I was surprised at how small and thin the hook was. They also removed the barb. Was really hard to get that squiggly worm on the hook 3 times!! I lost 3 hits but got 2 good ones. They gutted them there and I washed them good, pat dried with paper towel and wrapped tight in plastic wrap. Was so tired when I got home I couldn't get into cooking. Tonight Hutch coming over [he's back to work now]. Can't decide to just grill the whole batch one @14in the other @20 or freeze one. Read they come out mushy if you freeze them. Or I could pan fry smaller and smoke the bigger but only have a 22in Weber charcoal grill. Maybe put little sticks on one side to make smoke? No experience here with that. Asking you guys!!!
