Welcome aboard Bill. I fish sometimes at Barnegat inlet , Island Beach state park, seaside park. Mostly I fish Great Bay , little egg inlet Southern end of Long Beach Island. Late Fall run and early spring run stripers from surf. I’m happy to share local information.

It’s going to be a little too bumpy out front for me this weekend. I’m waiting on Black Sea bass as well. Some guys catching stripers in back and inlets . Good amount of bunker back there too. Could be a really good fall run. Good luck next week ! send in a report if you can.

Welcome Bill, I’ve read and heard that some bluefins have been recently caught inshore. Check Al Ristori’s blog on “tight lines with al ristori”. Fished with him a couple of times, he’s the real deal.

Welcome Bill. Went out of Manasquan a few weeks ago. Got fluke and monkfish. Many were trolling that day. HOw close to shore were the bluefins? That sounds like fun!

It was balls of bait fish being pushed up by the Blue Fish.. You could probably throw a baseball to the jetties they were that close in 25 ft of water. We jigged for them using sand eel type jigs. Caught them, fought them and threw them back. Lots of fun.

And I fish mostly Long Beach Island, a little bit up toward Seaside. Blues have been chasing peanut bunker down the outside of the bar.

I’m waiting for the fall migration of Stripers. The water is still too warm they won’t move out until it cools down. Then they move south. Global warming has messed with the timing.

I used to fish Holgate and Island Beach State Park back in the ‘70s & 80’s. Chasing fish on the CB radio. It’s been a while since I last surf fished.
