Thoughts on telescopic rods?
Bad dreams, nightmares, etc, thinking I might be forced to use one
have 10 ft and 6 ft spinning rods, works well but not as much strength as two piece or single piece.
I keep one in my sedan trunk for an unscheduled stop at local lake or beach. My 12 year grandson has 6 ft'er which he loves, because he stow it in his backpack while he is bicycling to his fishing spots.
Bottom line is they are handy and easy to pack. Casting performance is about the same as regular rod.

I fished with a friend that had a bunch of them on his boat. He used them on his downriggers trolling for Kokanee. They worked quite well.

I prefer multi-piece rods.
Fits in a Harley Road King bag. The four piece rods don't. I have caught a lot of fish on them. I do put a quality reel on. The good reel upgrades the whole set up. Simply put, use them when conventional is a problem. Otherwise use two or one piece for better action from more controllable ark.
agreed. quality reel is key

Buy a short two piece and be glad you never bought one.
