Best non-live bait methods for catching perch?

Most of the perch I see caught are going after worms. I've heard slices of other perch also work, as they're happy little cannibals. But it's hard for me to get good live bait. I'm working on setting up a worm bin, but what are some good techniques for catching perch without live bait? Powerbait and balls 'o fire didn't seem to do a single thing for me.

I catch them by accident on small crankbaits, and occasionally on a Wacky worm. Try small 3"worm rigged wacky style.

Flies. Perch around heres natural diet is like 60% bug larva and hatchings. I’ve done pretty well using flies tipped with maggots on a standard crappie rig or bottom knocker (spreader)

Very small trout lures work pretty well . Pheobes, kastmasters, mepps type, all work . small curly tail grubs on jigs
Too. YP's are definitely not fussy.

Once you do catch some perch cure some strips of perch belly and such in a strong salt solution, very strong, and keep it in the frig for the next trip.

Where you at and what time of year you talking? A hairy ice jig with a crappie nibble on it works pretty good.
