What kind of shark

Caught this guy today using a mullet rig. He inhaled the entire mullet,….Nice battle to land him but i dont know what kind of shark it is….its not a sandshark/ dogfish……lets ask th experts

Maybe it is a sandshark….im no expert…..just doesnt look like any of the 100 or so i catch from the beach each summer…..

Looks like a baby Sandbar Shark to me Danger.

Yeah Danger, regular Sandsharks have a large 2nd dorsal fin. The Sandbar has a small one.

Read sandbar sharks aren’t usually close to shore…my mullet must have lured him in…hahaha

I must’ve mis read it ir mistook it for another shark i looked up….either way…was a nice battle for a change.( without getting spooled) lol

“ feeds at night” except today….

From that second photo I was going to guess "unhappy" shark...kind of wearing a frown. Just kidding! It sure has a nice overall profile, especially that long upper tail fin. I think that folks above have probably nailed this one with the sandbar idea....

I caught a 15” or so that looked just like that last week in Sea Isle. Baby thresher based on tail.
