Bass fishing: Seriously, why are chatterbaits such a confidence lure for people? What am I missing?
I see so often that chatterbaits are people’s go-to a lot of the time. But in all honesty when I’m throwing a chatter as a “go-to”, I’m not catching fish at an efficient rate at all. I feel like I can put on a texas rigged D-bomb or a wacky senko and just go to town in situations when compared to a chatterbait. How do you consistently catch fish with one?

Good questions Pickled I'll be interested to see what answers you get myself
Confidence in the lure/bait you are using has a major impact on your catch ratio. If you don't have confidence in a chatter bait you will not fell them take the lure in their mouth. If you have confidence in a Texas rig whatever you will catch more fish on that lure.

Makes sense it makes a racket like a rattle trap
The reason I use it so much is that I love fishing any type of spinning bait whether it is a spinnerbait or chatter bait. Also the first time I ever used a chatter bait I had an awesome day. First fish with in 20 cats was a 4.25 lb spotted bass so I got addicted. I have caught 3 fish over 8 lbs on a spinner baits and caught a 6.35 lb spotted bass on a spinner bait in the dead of winter. My confidence in bladed baits is very high. I have 2 rod & reels with spinnerbaits, one with a chatter bait, one with a buzz bait and one with a bladed swim bait. Just have been successful with spinner type/ noise making baits that disturbs water. To me it is easy to feel the fish take it. I also have 2 fish over 8 lbs. on Texas rigged worms so I know how to fish it all. Had a lot of good teachers that I fished a lot with and that is where you learn to fish each of these baits.
