Great list Major! My absolute favorite John Wayne movie. I'm not a Mel Brooks fan, but that's just me.

Knowing that you are a real movie maven makes your compliment even more appreciated. Thank you.

Great great great mini-series. Loved it. One of the best things I've ever seen on TV. That's why I didn't bring it up - it's not a "movie". It was made for television. Aside from that, absolutely, one of the best!

I read the book before I saw the series. If you have a good imagination book is a lot better. Both are good.

Thank you! Don't know that I have any taste, but I do love to watch what I consider to be good ones. What makes a good movie is, kinda like with pornography, I don't know how to exactly define it, but I know it when I see it.

So many great movies. I don't lock myself into a corner. But I noticed that no one put Friday the 13th down. LOL

River runs through it now there's a movie how about Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men,Old Man in the Sea,or Moby Dick to name some that have to do with some kind of fish's in them and what was that comedy with Don Knotts in it he was in the navy and he fell into the see and became a fish and another Spash withTom Hanks

That's almost always true. A lot of times if I really liked the book I can't watch the movie. Field of Dreams is one of those. Never seen it. Never will. The book was so good. No way could they capture that magic in a movie. Especially one with Kevin Costner in it. Lonesome Dove is the exception that proves the rule, in my opinion. The casting was perfect. The action outstanding, the filming breathtaking. Couldn't have been better. I'm pretty sure the author Larry McMurtry, had a hand in the production.
