Since you get the majority of sunscreen on your hands when using spray and lotions, I switched to a roll on that does not contaminate lures and the overspray doesn't get all over everything else; or greasy lotioons that rub off on the interior. It is super easy to get on, especially those hard spots--ears, nose, neck the top of my feet. I use a 50 and my red headed partner uses a 70.

I use a spray that dries quickly. What stains my boat (seats, gunnel, carpet, floor) is dye, pink and chartreuse.

I have a shop towel I keep with my dye bottles. The dye is the last thing I do to a lure. I tie it on, remove the dye container and shop towel from a zip lock and carefully unscrew the dye lid over the shop towel. I dip the bait and then I immediately pitch it over the side in the water. I then screw the lid back on the dye container (still over the shop towel) and put both in a zip lock and stash it. When I take the lure out of water the dye is now dry.
I have had this boat for five years now and there are no dye marks on it. Can’t say the same about prior boats until I learned from someone more experienced about using dye.
Tight lines.

Blue Lizard sunscreen…..it doesn’t have the “iron” chemical in it and won’t turn things orange

Which brand of roll-on sunscreen are you using?
