A white buzz bait used to be my go to topwater. Pretty much year round.
I used to get the best I could afford . Strike kings and I think they had a grommet in the blade / shaft interface that helped with freedom of rotation
Turns out , hanging them out the side of the boat on way to lake spun these blades to a reall good condition. Kinda broke em in
These things produced when nothing else would and good quality fish to boot
Used to catch a ton of bass on these .
Don’t use em anymore. Have several. Gonna have to get old school
Anyone else still rely on the buzz bait ?
Haven’t in awhile, kinda a light fog over the water, early sun barely up, glassy water morning, fishing from a canoe thing. Oh yeah that was 30 years ago haven’t really since. Don’t know why, never ton of fish but it’s a blast when you get hit on one….
I still use buzzbait. White - white/chartreuse n black n blue.No need to twitch just chuck n reel 👍👍 actually caught a striper on one fall before covid

I caught a 21 inch saugeye on one pre fishing a tournament on Delaware lake
Like 30+ years ago.
If someone would tell me that story I’d say they were fill of crap , but it happened.

I use a red and white Bleeding Bait Strike King, and a Buzz Toad as well. Only throw them if there's not a lot of floating crap on the water.
Love those buzz baits.
2&3 blade with cracker.
Love to bend and tweak the arm to run the edges of vegetation.

I like throwing buzzbaits with either a white or black soft body toad trailer along grass lines (as P-dog suggests) to catch snakehead. Especially effective at Blackwater Refuge (MD) where I target them specifically.
Catch every snakehead you can and toss em on the weeds!
Restaurants pay $80 - $100 a piece for that snakehead here in Maryland.
Yup got half a dozen or so in my box and still use them but have been using a whopper plopper more.
Going to show my ignorance but how does a buzz bait differ from a whopper plopper or a spinner bait? Any photos?

I still do, but only if the fish are not interested in taking slower presentations.

NO WAY, Jose ! They can crawl back into the water.
Take your knife and KILL them first ! ! !
