Any sonar experts on here? Think I found a mega school but bass don't normally stack up like this. Is this a ton of bass, or just submerged trees/debris?

Grass most likely. Check out YouTube and look for electronics videos from TacticalBassin or Fish the Moment. Fish will look like arches.

I'm 100% certain grass doesnt look like that on sonar, I spend quite a bit of time fishing grass where I'm at and grass looks like long vertical lines. Not sure how it would possibly take an oval shape suspended above the bottom lol

When I say grass I mean weeds of any kind really. Out where I fish the “grass” is usually a combination of hydrilla and some other thick mossy crap that just makes a big blob on my Hook7.
Regardless, I’m fairly confident that those are not fish. But hey it never hurts to drop something down and see if they bite.
Also, you probably have down imaging on that, right? Turn that on next time you see something like that and see if anything stands out.

I don't think I have ever seen fish on my Hummingbird 10 with DI, SI or sonar. You have to be a damned magician to figure out what you are doing.

Looks like baitfish, shad to me
Since the color is the same as the top portion of the bottom, my guess is t hat these are small clumps of vegetation that have broken loose from that growth that is on the bottom. Vegetation starts to die in the Fall and that may be the cause of this. However, if the color was not as shown I would predict that these might be Crappie or even bream except that the depth is a little deep for bream.
Looks like Crappie, shad seem to ball up more.
How did we ever catch fish before all this sonar crap ?
