I added a 12 lb mono leader with a Albright knot To my braid. I left my tag end a little long and tied a 1/32 jig to it along with a 5/16 jig to the bottom this worked great far less tangles than a barrel swivel and the tag end seams just as strong as the main line. Caught a few doubles.

Slick idea Mike, going to have to give that a try on my crappie rigs. Thanks for the tip.

The way the tag end comes out of the Albright the stiffness of the mono would force it away from the mainline. Great idea, the size would have to be small though.

Great Idea Mike! I’ve never thought of that, I always just put a twisted DropLoop in then tied the end to the braid and clipped off the tag ends. I might have to try this. Thanks 😊

I have thought about doing something like that.... Glad to see you had success.

When fishing the dams here in Nw iowa I would leave a foot tag end off of a 1/8th Oz jig and tie a floating jig head on behind it. Another of success that way. I would use a twister on the jig head and a minnow on the floater.

I do something similar fishing the dams on the Ohio river I will run a 1/4 on the bottom tipped with a minnow and a 1/8 on the top with a gulp minnow
