Rekkin I'm the new kid on the block. Live in Indiana. Fishings been lousy in my neck of the woods. Got me a new 8' medium heavy Berkley Mudcat spinning combo and the fish couldn't care less. Oh well.....take care alla y'all. Right lines and God bless.
Welcome MadMac from Alabama Bill
Welcome MadMac! Another Hoosier here, but I have had good luck with the fish this year, except for the walleye. What part of the state are you in?

Marion In Grant County. Glad ta hear somebody in Indiana is catching something. I'm stuck on the bank that's why I've been buying some long poles. Missasenewa and Salamonie rivers are not real friendly to someone who is slowly losing the use of his legs. Can't walk far. Can't really complain about my legs considering that my wife was recently diagnosed with terminal lymphoma. Oh well...gotta have something to gripe about, right? I'm just glad I can still get to the water. Good place to clear my head when it gets too heavy. You catching channels, flats, blues, bass or crappie?

How do, Bill? Glad ta meetcha!
From Indiana also but living in Ohio at present. Pulled many a fish out of Monroe Reservoir back in the 70’s while a student at IU. Actually was born and raised a stones throw from the reservoir in Oolitic and fished Salt Creek and other nearby streams as a kid before there was a Monroe reservoir.
Just fished the spillway at the Mississinewa res and between my Dad and I, we caught 70 fish. There was way too many Asian carp there. Sounds like the three of us have bad knees. We live in Delaware county.

Carp are a real hoot on light tackle. I used to go after them with a light action rod and four pound mono on the reel. Landed quite a few on a wee ultralight rod too. Not as spry now though. Got spinal stenosis with severe narrowing in two places in my spine. Legs burn like they're on fire. Hearts so bad, I've had six attacks and a triple bypass, that five surgeons have said that the surgery I need will kill me. All I can do is live with it. I'm 68 so I won't have to put up with it much longer. Meanwhile I aim to catch as many piscatorial denizens of rivers and reservoirs as I can. I may be slow gettin there but I usually catch my share when I can wet a line. Not this year. If they're bitin before I get there they stop when I arrive. I must be a damn Jonah. Huh! My luck is usually pretty good. It must be to have survived what I've been through and still be able to got around. Right? Right!
See I ain't complaining. Just rambling. I'll knock it off once it quits hurting enough that I can git a couple hours sleep. That'll set me right agin. Somebody told me that Asian carp won't hit worms. Is that fact or funny business?

I used to love to wade fish creeks. I've got a tiny Ryobi bait cast reel on a very light action pistol grip rod that's a lot of fun on these small creeks. That rod and reel along with some size six hooks and a small bag of whole kernal corn kept me happy many afternoons.
