Found some ponds near me that are only accessible by mountain bike or hiking a couple miles through the woods and I'd like to bring a telescopic rod in a backpack. I've been considering the KastKing Compass casting rod or a Jawbone telescopic spinning rod from Dick's Sporting Goods.
Anybody have experience with telescopic rods?
Sorry, I have not had any experience with either. Hopefully, there will be others who have, and can give you their advice. I would assume that either would do the job. Just be careful when telescoping them out, to be careful and secure them firmly. Other than than, what ever goes wrong can be remedied quickly, So go an have a great trip, but remember to send pictures of your catch. Just Sayin....RJS
I have a telescoping 7 ft rod. The only problem I have had is the tip is fragile. I enjoy fishing with the rod and other than a tip issue, the rod’s performance has been good.

I use them (spinning) all the time. Bait caster is 2 piece. I've not had any problems with my telescoping rods and I've had several.
Used them a lot I keep 2 plus a small tackle box in the lock box of my pickup you never know when the fishing bug will bite
I own a Diawa Crosscast telesescoping rod and love it. The fexibility and accuracy of cast is a welcome feature. Additionally, the ease of carry/travel is certainly convenient. Garry

I use to use them until I had a big large mouth on and the rod broke at the first joint
