I caught this last night at my local lake. I measured him at 10.25 inches. I was wondering what is the largest bluegill others have caught.

I caught one that measured 13.25 inches way back in 1970's. Needless to say I don't have a picture. Caught it from a wilderness lake in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Many years ago, a landed a 9 inch Bluegill from a local pond. Big and fat and a fighter ! Thought at first It was a Bass on my ultralight rig. Released and hoped to catch again. Several years trying but never did.

I believe that there is a southern state that holds quite a few large Bluegills they have pictures and posts on here from the past

That gill is definitely a stud
I fish a pond in central Indiana that routinely produces 11 1/2 inchers.
Blast to catch. They will make the ole ultralite drag scream!!
I’ve caught tons of 9 inch plus slab gills from there.
Also my PB largemouth a 7-4 came from this pond.
We call the place Jurassic Park. Haven’t been in a couple years.

My SIL took me to a little farm pond right outside of where I live, about 20 years ago. He was there to catch bass, and he did, but I caught a gill that went about a foot. So I sorta changed tactics and I brought in at least a dozen like that one. The guy who owned the property showed up and told us it was OK to fish there as long as we cleaned up our mess and kept all the fish we caught - he was trying to thin it out. But when we went back another time the place was fenced off and there was construction going on. I've never been back. SIL asked me what I was gonna do with them "perch". I said we're gonna eat em. He said no, you're gonna eat em. He turned up his nose. All the more for me.

Mine was 11 1/2”, but it felt like 5# as I was about 5yrs old and I caught it on my Zebco 202.

Ya got me beat, largest Gill I ever caught was 12” on the nose and I often target them specifically. That’s a beauty!
