I am finally recuperating after a injury to my left shoulder and upper spine and I would desperately love to get back to fishing but I’m terrified of not being able to or hurting myself.
Any ideas would be welcome, I’m going stir crazy sitting at home.

You might want to stick to trolling, where you don't have to work your
arms/shoulders while casting.
Go slow and easy. Keep your trips short until you get stronger.
Talk to your doctor and therapist on what you should do. Also what exercises to help you with the techniques you need to use. Talking with my spinal doctor and therapist I found out they were outdoors men. Doctor was a fanatic hunter and fishing persons
shoulder injury makes most fishing tough, but when the pain starts to subside in your shoulder you need to go fishing. Give it a little time don't make things worse.
A lot of good advice here. Yes, check with doctors and/or therapist. Do boat trips on calm days to avoid slamming of boat on waves. Trolling and vertical jigging should be less stressful and less painful. And the general rule of thumb that applies would be “ if it hurts, don’t do it”
I’m waiting on my friend to heal up so we can go crappie fishing.
I’m gonna have to take it real easy in the boat . That thing can be brutal on the back
Spend some time on the internet learning knots fishing tricks how to find spots order some stuff on line wat till you heal up some don't rush it. Re- injuring something means a lot longer to heal. E_A_S_Y
