Float keeps wrapping around rod

Last 2 times I've been out fishing I've been having a real problem with my line/float wrapping around my rod. I usually fish a waggler or float "on the drop" for roach/perch/bream etc, the lake I fish is pretty deep (deeper than my 12ft rod!) But everytime I catch something and lift it out I then have to spend 5-10 minutes unravelling everything again. Do you think the problem is the line I'm using? I'm using 4lb mono atm, could just be the brand?

Learn what a slip bobber is and how to rig it. With it you could fish the bottom of the ocean if your reel will hold enough line. When you reel in your bait, the bobber will be within a couple feet or inches, your choice, from your bobber and hang well below your rod tip.
