Looking for a budget baitcaster

Title says it all... Just got a free 7ft medium baitcasting rod looking for a 50$ range-ish baitcaster, just a set up to bang up. Can someone recommend a budget baitcaster please? I had an old abu garcia black max I learned off which was nice, looking to try something different now. Looked at a bunch of Kastking baitcaters on Amazon but really just don't know what the differences are between them all. Thanks in advance!

I hesitate to recommend equipment. They are opinion's that are worth what you pay for them. But I have three Kastkings. A Rover 40, a light spinning reel and recently got a low profile casting reel, a Royal Legend. The Royal Legend was about $40 and have used it one time on an Ocuma Kokanee rod, UL action. Worked very well. Have one other low profile a Daiwa RG that seems to to be better than what it cost. I say that because I seldom spend a lot of money on any reel. I have been tempted to get one of those Piscun reels but haven't done it yet. Hard to go wrong with a Schmano or an ABU but also hard to find one for $40!

I’ve heard horror stories about cast king. Also have heard high praises about the same reel so I don’t know what to believe.
My least expensive reel in my line up is a shimano Trax. And it’s a great reel for what I use it for.

The Abu Black max is the only budget reel I have personal experience with.
For the money not great but not terrible.

If you talk to enough people you'll hear horror story's about all of them! The reason I got my Rover 40 was because some guy was trashing it so bad I couldn't believe anything could be that bad. For $45 I found out myself. Only two years now so something could still go wrong but I didn't have to mortgage the house to get it.. for all I know it could go ten toes up tomorrow. So could one of my ABU's though!

I hear ya. I don't normally suggest anyone used anything I haven't tried But seems we are seeing a lot of new stuff and some of it looks pretty good and for the price it's worth a try!

THE PFLUGER PRESIDENTIALS GET GOOD REVIEWS I BOUGHT ONE THIS YEAR FOR A BACKUP SETUP ON A POLE I HAD. USUALLY USE SHIMANO AND DIAWA ON MY OTHER RODS THE PFLUGER REEL COST ME LIKE 35$ AT WALMART AND ITS A GREAT REEL FOR THE MONEY CAST WELL, GOOD DRAG WORKS FLAWLESSLY IT MIGHT NOT LAST AS LONG AS THE EXPENSIVE REELS BUT IVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SO FAR AND IVE FISH IT HARD JUST TO PUT IT THROUGH THE TEST AND FOR A REEL UNDER 40$ I HIGHLY WOULD RECOMEND
