i was checking the tide tables and found this sight and decided to join. i used to be an avid fisherman, but have been too busy in recent years and am now wanting to get back in to the sport.

Welcome, I'm glad you're not so busy now and can concentrate on the more important things in life. Good luck and fish on friend.
Welcome.
Life has sucked the life out of a lot of fisherpeople.
Try to get the time made up if possible.

Wow Oz, you could really generate a lot of conversation with your first comment. Or everyone will just stick to fishing. I know fishing saved me more than once.
thank you all. i'm in north carolina and plan on wetting a line real soon.
Hello everyone. I live in Northern Virginia. I'd love the opportunity to go out on the boat and fish. Haven't experienced that on the East Coast.
I'm brand new here joined like 5 minutes ago.. Hello I am also in SC. I love any and all kinds of fishing I will post pics in the future
i finally went fishing for the first time in at least 3 years. the last time was surf and pier fishing at north myrtle beach 3-4 years ago. we just got back from beaufort, nc where i fished for about an hour off a dock on taylors creek on front street and caught a small croaker, a small black sea bass (my first of these) and numerous pin fish. it was fun. now, to fish freshwater again for the first time in over ten years.

Hello everyone I'm from Iowa, but in the winter I'm in south Texas . Just starting to get into surf fishing. Will post pictures later
Howdy, back woods of Texas here. So how's the fishing? To be honest I haven't had a line in the water in years. I use to absolutely love to fish for bass just for the sport of it, so in the bass fishing category for the most part it was catch & release. Cat fishing on the other hand I liked because they are by far my favorite to roll in that seasoned corn meal & fry up. Speaking of frying up I could sure go for a big mess of catfish, so please any tips & technique s on how to increase my odds on catching catfish would greatly be appreciated. I'll be using only a rod & reel. So any ideas on the best baits, what depth to fish at, etc., etc.
I live in Pennsylvania, but I am on vacation in Fla (Ft. Walton Beach)for the next month. I will be back in PA the first of Nov.
