Hello. I am happy to be on the site. I am a trout fishing lover and have had a lot of success fishing on the upper Sacramento.
I want to take my 35 year old daughter fishing in the fall and am looking for recommendations for where to go. I want to rent a cabin nearby.
If anyone can help me with this, I would be so grateful!!!
Thank you, Gail

Wow you are right across the big puddle from me I’m not sure about trout fishing 🎣 around the Sacramento area but there is a lot of different places you can try for Stripers, catfish and of course black bass and Salmon give spirit a pm and see what he recommends he is in Lincoln good luck 👍

Fires make your timing bad. I suggest high lakes that are not effected. Maybe eastern sierras.

Welcome Gail, right now most lakes are really low level in the Sacramento area. Try lake Pardee if you are in a boat, last I looked at was 87% full. It’s a nice lake and well maintained. It’s fishing only too! Good luck!

G.Hunt you are looking for a fella we call "Spirit of 27". You might even PM him and tell BD (Blackdog) sent ya. He has lived and fish the west coast for trout for a long time.

A good pace to try would be Lake Amador. You have to pay to fish there but they stock some pretty good size cutbows. If fishing from a boat try trolling about 1to1.5mph with a half & half dodger with a treaded worm trailer. You can rent boats there but it makes for a $$$ day.

Rent a place in Dunsmuir and you are right on the Sacramento. Lake Almanor is closed due to the Dixie fire.

Dunsmuir Airbnb, be sure to check the fishing regulations. Some areas are North and South of Dunsmuir are catch and release, barbless.

trinity lake. lake siskyou. Hat creek honesty I would have to look at the burnt and drought map this year. It even hit amador. Bucks lake, Frenchman's and eagle lake are always good lake Collins. I went to high school in Susanville. That's a big area. Were you thinking off I-5 or 101 or 395?
