We use to fish the north rip with heavy bucktails and the entrance to the south of new harbor but I think the best spot is the back side of block in about 50 ft of water towards the south East light side and bass best game in town is the ledge . I miss it up there in Florida catching grouper, red snapper and hog fish but did get a bunch of small mahi yesterday on our way out to the grouper grounds

Had a fluke on this a.m. at the west clump of fishers Island sound in 80 ft. It actually took out 20 to 40 ft of line. Had her up to 10 ft and the hook pulled out. Had to be 3 ft long! They're in there.

That’s to bad , I’ve never caught on that big but have seen them on the floor in champlins seafood down the point there huge
