Going out west to go fishing

Hey guys, me and my fiancé are renting a RV and going out west instead of going to a resort. We are starting in Ohio and thinking of ending in Colorado then heading back home (Ohio). Any advice you can give about what to use and places to go would be so helpful! We aren’t set on a rout to take, I’m just wanting it to be relaxing and fun.

A few years back one of my daughters was attending college in the Denver region. On several of our visits, we took time to hike and fish within the Rocky Mtn. National Park via the Estes Park entrance. The trails and fishing were spectacular along the way to the park...as well as deep inside of it. I purchased a special book about the Park in advance so I could do "armchair recon" before heading out. It was an easy place to fall in love with...and that is probably just the tip of the iceberg out there. The Rockies have so much to offer...and from a variety of States.

I recall there being some "size restrictions" with regard to large vehicles when navigating steep and challenging roadways (curves, etc.) so keep that in mind. Have an awesome trip!

A few photos for inspiration being sent your way!

Yeah I got over my broken ribs from that fall in the ice storm the fishing here is absolutely different than what I'm used to Thirty or forty years of fishing rocks and cliffs and mountains you think you're an expert wait till it comes the bushes and weeds and sticks at Shasta Lake your ten feet from the bank and you're in 20 feet of water you're a hundred feet from the bank here in here in two feet of water guess I have to learn how to flip bushes and put on 65 lb braid I'll probably get heavier equipment I need heavy equipment and I got an underwater fishing light so I can use that at night when it's not as hot
