I have only used spinning rods. But looking into a UL rod with a multiplikator reel mostly for fun and something new to learn. They are also lesd bulky wich I think is nice on a UL setup. But do those reels cast well with lower weight lures? Like 1-10 grams.

What kind of UL setup you guys have?

Spinning rods, with the exception of my Mom’s Zebco UL spincast combo from about 1983. She caught a 17” black crappie on that thing and I keep it for the Grandkids.

For spinning UL is about all I do. But several of my reel are just a bit on the large side except one. Ocuma Ignite reel on a 5' Ocuma Celilo rod. This thing rivals my old Mitchell 308 set up! Have it filled with 2# test SOS line!

I have a super ultralight country creek 8’ rod with a 1000 14bb spin reel 6# line. Smooth great action I have lost 2 nice size fish this year but I have landed several 5-6 lb cats no problem with 3-5 lb bass and 1 8 lb freshwater drum. Boat load of bluegill. It will take lighter line but I am afraid of some of the occasional bigger fish getting the better of me. I use this setup 80% of the time Good luck

Go with your favorite manufacturer (Shimano, Mitchell, Diana, etc.) and choose their smallest/lightest.
