Yes, I have fished lake Weir. There is lake Weir and little lake Weir, both spring fed. Beautiful area and a great restraunt on the SE side called Eaton Beach, boat ramps, a Sandy swimming beach, great food and cold beer.
I live in Leesburg on Lake Griffin about 10 miles to the South. Do you live in the area or are you visiting? Let me know if you want to do some fishing.

Hey Rich, I live in The Villages. My Bass Tracker is in a slip at Lake Panasoffkee. That lake is so full of grass and weeds that it is very hard to fish. I would like to know if bass fishing in Lake Weir would be worth getting a Marion County permit to be able to fish there. Always looking for a fishing buddy.
