Z Man popping frog issues

Everytime i use the z man popping frog small or large they always seem to dive underwater. I've tried fast and slow twitch retrieve unless i go really slow it always dives under. Is this just the type of frog or what could i be doing wrong?

Keep your rod tip up, maybe 11:00 angle, so your line stays out of the water.

Agree with FF on the rod angle. Also, how often are you squeezing the water out after retrieval? Might have a leaky valve and it fills up too quickly.

Probably has water in the body you have to squeeze the water out every couple of cast
