If it's hot out there, they've gone deep. Look for submerged structure or cover. They'll normally stack up around that. Randy should know a few spots. He'll probably be along when he sees your post. Tight Lines!
Oh yeah, Welcome to the Stage Bob!

Welcome to FS, Ultrabob. I haven’t fished Clinton recently, but we have caught lots of crappie over on the SW corner where the Wakarusa River enters the lake, along the edges of the channel.
You are the third person from Lawrence on here. AndMarvin is the other. You might try to PM him for a more up to date report.
Thanks man the pressure is on going out to Clinton in the morning at 7 , thanks for the response.
Thanks, we fished all morning no keepers, crappie that is a couple small channel cat a a couple drum. Fished mostly in 15-20 of water at the mouth of the Wakarusa also. Had minnows, jigs, worms the whole nine yards. We did watch a couple guys with the big tv screen catch a few keeper crappie out in the middle of the Wakarusa , they were staring at that screen and vertical jigging with those long rods…. We will be back!
Catching crappie in Clinton by "dipping" trees with minnows. Be ready for the occasional catfish or drum. Stay as far away from the tree as possible. Fish are spooky. We are using 12-14 foot rods. I'm from Leavenworth, Ks and fish Clinton regularly.
Makes sense, thanks for the tip
