Good find or not really

Hello everyone I'm new to the group and I'm looking for as much wisdom and knowledge from you pro's that your willing to share. Going fishing tomorrow and today I found a pole at a yard sale that looked like a good pole so I took the chance and spent $30 bucks on the purchase. That being said can anyone give me some feedback on my find if it's a decent pole or not so much. I'm looking to try out crappie and Bass fishing so I had no idea where to start.

Should be a good bass rod.

The rod/reel combo should be well worth the money you paid for it. It'll be good for Bass fishing, but the action is to heavy for Crappie fishing. You can catch Crappie with about any rod/reel combo, but a much lighter action spinning rod/reel (light line) combo would be better, aND a heck of a lot more enjoyable.

Good reel and rod. Worth the money. You will need a smaller pole/reel for crappie though.

a lot of inexpensive CRAPPIE rods out there (ugly stick light) is an option. That is what I bought for grandkids and now I often use one. A reel for Crappie does not have to be name brand, should be light weight. Majority of line for me is 4 lb. My spider rigs reels are not expensive. Fishing does not have to fish your money out of your pocket===do not be the fish (sucker). TAKE KIDS, TAKE YOUR NEIGHBOR & TAKE THE HANDICAP---AND TAKE THE ELDERLY-----SMILES ARE PRICELESS. HAVE FUN

Rod/reel combo Looks to be decent for bass, possibly a bit strong or heavy for crappie, but I’d wait till after you’ve taken it out to the water to deem it good or a waste of cash. Frankly, if you caught, it’s the best rod in the world. If skunked, eh, it’s still a decent rod, after all, it did get you out on the water fishing right? Best rod in the world.
