What to do

I got an area I’ve been wanting to explore.
On my home lake Caesar Creek
This is the deepest lake in Ohio and is STEEP!!
Any way , I marked a ton of waypoints on a cove I call finger points.
Area is maybe acre and a half and 4 points kinda converge.
Depth at 10 fr from bank is 8 ft
Depth at moderate cast is 30 ft

These points are loaded with submerged laydowns and stumps

Gonna give her a try next time out.
I’m thinking early shallow to 12 ft weed less wacky senko and a fat free shad ,
Come 9:00 back off and hit with a swim jig and chunk and a Tokyo rig
Make another pass deeper with a big T rigged worm

What would you do?

How about a Ned rig, or a Neko rigged craw bumping down from shallow to deep?
Another technique I was hoping to try last weekend (until my dumbass left them at home) is drop-shotting floating creature baits

I keep forgetting to add pics.
Pic is of a lake map close up of what I’m talking about.

If I were a big ole bass I’d definitely like the cover and rapid depth adjustment opportunity. And the old creek channel is right there

No clue where thermocline is settling. Haven been out in 3 weeks.

Get that figured and see what depth baits at and I’ll have something figured out pretty soon

Hope it’s lunker heaven

I would definitely include some drop shot hopping, here’s some of my favorites but you may want them in a larger size.

I’ve never used gulp or power bait on drop shots . You like??
I’ve used em on shakeyheads and did so so.
I’m hung up on strike King dream shots and half shells for DS.
I need to expand but when your catching …

That looks like a great area Ben. If there's any cleaner, sandy, rocky bottom then I'm with OJ on the Ned &Neko rigs. Add those to your arsenal. I don't dropshot that often,(damn wind), but since day 1,used Dream Shots and Half Shells, and some old 4" flat tail Jelly Worms.
I'd add weightless TR stick worms, and a Trick Worm or Monster worm on a Shakyhead.
Have a blast and take lots of pictures! Good luck and Tight Lines.

Try the under spin jigs I have been catching the heck out of the Bass for the last 5 weeks. Using this set up 3/8's and KEITECH (EASY Shiner 4"
) it has a round tail.
You can fish it different depth.
Good luck
Andy

I would also throw a crankbait if possible. Also slow roll an underspin with different Keitech baits. Megabass also makes a nice 4" plastic shad bait(Hazedong). Good luck I am sure you will catch them.

The creature bait I was referring to is the Berkeley water dog. Looks like it would be great for smallies on a drop shot rig. Had I only NOT forgotten them 🤦🏼‍♂️

In most situations, I start with topwater, next is spinner baits, followed with crankbaits, then plastics of various forms of presentations like T-rig, C-rig, swim baits, shaky heads etc. Poles are already to go on deck. Hate spending time changing things on the water. Keep it simple stupid KISS
