I have always had a curiosity regarding underwater cameras, but avoided them as I didn’t want my kids and now Grandkids glued to it instead of taking in the entire experience. I see the benefit of their use for ice fishing and fish identification, and am now considering one to verify what I think my Garmin depth/fish finder is telling me. I marked thousands of what I thought were fish, but would like to know if that was truly the case?
Do any of you use one of these…and is it worth buying one?

A good question, OJ, but I'm sorry, I am of no help, I have never had one or seen one in action.

I think Ronnie has one OJ, may not be "Aqua View "but another brand. I've been thinking about getting one myself, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Marcum makes one, too.

I think they both make several models. Pretty sure BPS caries both brands. Next time I go to ours I'll try to remember to look at them.

I have used the Aqua View for ice fishing and fishing lakes in the summer. They work amazing if you are within 4-6 ft. of the target. I first had a Cabela’s brand which was black and white, but had the same issue. I would not suggest for river fishing as the water clarity is usually very stained/murky from the sand and current.

They are only good in crystal clear water.

This makes perfect sense and also why they work so well under the ice!
I was concerned about use in muddy water, but most of the water I fish is very clear or stained with good visibility.
