River trout help

Brand spanking new to fishing and I'm going fishing in ohiopyle. I'm going with friends who know what they are doing but I do not. I have a rod and wheel but I don't know what else's I need. Thanks for the help

Haha. Good response. I would ask your mates in regards to what size hooks and other tackle you require if targeting trout and whether they use lures or bait. I’m sure they will be happy to help rig your line up if you have trouble. Look up some basic fishing knots and practice those. Learn some basic rigs, running sinker is a simple all rounder.

Buy a few Panther Martin spinners ( cheap )in size 1 & 2 in a variety of colors. Easy to fish. Just cast out and slowly reel back in. They work great in ponds, lakes, rivers, creeks & streams. Trout go nuts for these little spinners. My favorite colors are , silver bladed yellow & red body & copper blade black and yellow body. Good luck 🎣

If the spinners are not working try a Lur Jensen Super Duper spoon. They look crazy but really work. Silver with the red tip. Good luck

The Super Duper has worked well for me as has the Mepps on size 0 or 1. All of them.
