Where to find largemouth bass in Mass

I bought a new rod and reel during Covid (and lots of other stuff) but it is still sitting in my closet. I’d like to get back into fishing (from shore initially). Where are some of the best locations in north central MA to find largemouth bass? And do you have recommendations re lures?
Thanks for any suggestions. Fishing is fun and relaxing, but even more so if you catch an occasional fish.

I've fished tons (!) of lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and rivers in central and east MA, and have yet to find one (or research one) that doesn't have largemouth bass. Tight lines and good luck!

When I was stationed at Westover I fished a 'Forge Pond' in Granby. LM bass, pickerel and a variety of panfish. Believe you could rent a rowboat also. This was in the early 70s.

If you have a boat, canoe, or kayak, I would strongly recommend East or West Lake in Halifax, MA. There a lots of lilypad locations that you can work with soft plastics or live bait. There are some big fish in there, so be ready for the fight of your life!
