Hey guys. So I’m planning on going to bass pro to pick up stuff for catfishing but I have never fished for one or caught one. I’m from NH and I am now stationed in Louisiana so I’m not used to the fishing down here. Im planning on getting a rod and reel just for it so any brands or certain gear that you use would be a huge help Thanks!

Ugly stick makes a 50$ rod/reel combo for cat fishing. That will do you well unless you’re looking to catch some monster flatheads. Put some 15-30 lb mono on it. Get offset circle hooks from team cat fish. They seem to set themselves and I always have the best success with them.
