Bass fishing: Rod and reel combo question.
So I just got my 2nd combo. I have a 6’9” Dobyns Sierra medium MF action with a pflueger president. And I just got a 6’6” Daiwa Aird-X Medium Heavy F action with a Daiwa Procyon LT 2500D-CXH. Is it counter productive now that I have this cheaper rod with the nicer reel on it? What’s your opinion on these 2 setups and how would you fish them differently? I was very surprised by how sensitive the tip was on the MH rod when I fished it last night. Granted I was throwing a giant whopper plopper.

Best way to find out is go use them. Sometimes opinions are worth what you pay for them. Lot of people figure if you don't pay a premium for equipment, you got junk. Then there's those that look for bargain equipment and do fine with it.
I don’t have expensive equipment, but I believe good quality tackle. I don’t think it’s really with it worth it, but that’s me. You can use anything with anything that catches fish.
You need to match the rod strength with what you are bait/lure you are fishing with. The more expensive reel makes it easier to work the lure/bait and the rod strength for the weight of the lure/bait.
