When/if you do, I hope you get as lucky as I did once, some time
ago !
Was fishing a point between two
small coves when I hit a school of them ! I think I hauled in about 17 crappie in just over 20 minutes !
The action was crazy - on nearly
every cast, my bobber went under
just as it hit the water !
Had a similar episode earlier that season when I chanced into a
school of white perch - got about
20 perch in a half-hour ! In both instances, I caught several large
'slabs' that could have each made
a meal by themselves, but all fish
(in both instances) were released !

Wow! I would love to tie into some action like that. Fun fun. Why c and r?
It's what I do - I fish for sport,
mostly ! For me, it's about the challenge of catching the biggest
fish I can on the lightest tackle possible (for me), like 4# for trout
and 6# for trout, bass, and whatever else comes along ! Haven't yet
caught anything exceeding either
line test, so have yet to prove
myself as a good fisherman until
I can land one that does exceed
the line weight !
Trout may be kept occasionally
if too injured/exhausted to survive,
but most other species are tossed back in ! The other exception
would be my first (decent) walleye, which will definitely get eaten !
It's all about that adrenaline rush
when a big trout or bass are on and jumping all over the place, especially smallmouths ! Nothing I've ever seen or caught gets the blood going like a smallmouth's aerobatics on light tackle !
Wow I post that I catch a super crappie and others take over the conversation and by the way yes it is my first crappie I actually caught three but the one photo was the biggest

Sorry, DT, but that's often the way conversational threads go on this Forum - it's not intended to snub
or ignore anyone's posts, it's just
the way these posts go
sometimes ! Thread topic may
change ten times in three pages - that's just the way conversations
turn on this site !

Al is right about that D. Itβs like that game where you whisper something in someones ear and 20 people later itβs a totally different sentence. Itβs actually a lot of fun to see where these topics go. π and thanks for answering my question. π
