I live close about 8 hours away from there but if I do go out there I'll try that lake out..I'm located more in Salt lake
I am from Roy, UT. Utah Lake and Willard Bay would be your best bets. All the boat harbors at Utah Lake: Provo, Linden or Saratoga will have places to bank fish for catfish and White Bass. White Bass chunks or carp are one of the best baits for Channel Cats at UL. But I use fresh shrimp mostly. The river that leaves UL and goes through Salt Lake has cats in it.
Willard Bay, North of Ogden is a fantastic place with Walleye, crappie, catfish, wipers and perch. There are lots of places to fish off the rocks that surround the lake.
But on the North side of Willard they have made a new pond that sounds like it will be perfect for you. It is for bank fishing only. I think! Go to the Utah Fish and Game site to read about it. From what I hear, it is going to be great. It might not be open to fishing this year.
And at Utah Lake, there is a road that goes along the western side from Saratoga South. There is a place called the "Knolls" that you can drive to and fish for catfish. Lots of people camp there. One of the only places you can camp free. There is no boat ramp there.
