I have far surpassed my allotted excuses for not going to church, but kind of feel like in the song “ I was once lost “
Always felt God is everywhere and a brief look to the sky and he will accept my thanks as worship.
Then finally something clicked one evening and going to church in the morning was all that was on my mind.
Spending a few minutes to check him out became an hour. Just an hour. I spend more time then that watching useless news.
Then it hit me that the longer I spend time with someone at their house, I realize my house needs a cleaning.
Think about it, some houses of worship are open 24/7. Stop in and say Hi.
I think he would like to see us more then just 2 days a year.

Church is where we go to feed our soul God is everywhere but only promises to be with us where we are gathered together in his name.
There are days when my church is a beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic, but far more often I enjoy the peace of mind I feel when I stop in for a visit. It defines my week, since I no longer have to get up and go to work any more. No one bothers me there with requests or demands. Things can get straightened out.

This was a question from our priest one Easter. How many CEO's do we have here today. A few people raised their hands. He then stated that he felt there were a lot more. You see CEO stands for "Christmas and Easter Only"
The next week he followed up with "Isn't it nice to have your old seat back"?

Good one OBG. I was doing the 9am and almost knew who sat where like they had their name on the pew or something.
Today we started doing the 7am service. Thought they were looking at me oddly this morning. They must think i am a lost CEO.

Totally agree with that, happened to us a couple of times when went to a 10am.
That kinda reminds me of a good Irish Pub. Went into one in Ireland early one day, and a group came in and told us that was there table. So, I bought them a round of drinks and the rest of the night was quite "Foggy"......but FUN!

What you say is SO true.
Being the one who gave “everything”, and still supplies us with everything we have and enjoy, He deserves more praise/thanks than we give Him.
Without Him, we would have nothing or BE nothing.
Thank you, Lord....
for today and every day. 🙏🏻
Great post plumbob; food for thought . Yes God is everywhere and you can be with Him wherever you are but —- He does say,” I will be with all who gather in My name,” He just doesn’t say how many. I think it could be just you and Him communing in nature or wherever.
One of my pet peeves is someone telling me I’m sitting in their seat when I’m visiting a new church. If I’m in a good mood I’ll just move but if I got up on the wrong side of the bed, with my hard headed German side showing, I been known to retort “ I don’t see your name on the back of the chair or pew!”.
I know it’s not nice in God’s house so you’re just gonna have to forgive me, I”ve asked God and He has said “ I forgive you my son”. Nuff said.
OBG, that’s a good. Speaks to a lotta folks in my church. CEO!!!👎🏿
Liked the picture plumbob to go along with the post. Accented the post well.

A more kind reply --- Thank you for your very generous donation
That would be, but unfortunately my mind and temper don’t seem to work that way. Guess I could be a nice guy if I tried. Would take some retraining.
