Where I live the Smallmouth go deep in the summer, maybe 30 feet. for that reason my bait of choice is a Jig and chunk.

Center Hill Lake Tennessee... I go out there every year for my annual “man trip”! Was there this past January... got some nice smallmouth on Damiki blade baits and tailspins 🎣
