Whopper plopped vs jitterbug

Why would I choose one bait over the other. I assume at least that are both used to mimic a struggling bait fish. I know jitterbugs are a little older but i don’t understand what compels me to throw one over the other. Thanks y’all

I prefer the whopper plopper , hands down. This is because it is a better designed lure, with better hardware / hooks , casts better, less wind resistance, etc....My 2cents.

The plopper is a more rowdy presentation, the Jitterbug is more subtle, and allows a better stop and go retrieve.

I always take screws out new jitterbug and put super glue on screw and screw in tight I had 8.8oz bass hit it 6 feet from rod tip when ready to raise it out of the water and 2 hooks got straight out and the strong Stren line did not break

whatever you have more confidence in, which will show up with more fish caught on one lure over the other. Sure, there'll be subtle differences in time of day, wind or wave action, skies overhead or near dusk. But the first thing i said is true.

The difference would be the speed the bass want. The Jbug would be for slow presentation and the WP would be fast. The fish will tell you what they want. It just(still) takes patience and presentation.
