I use to catch these ugly suckers when I was flounder fishing. They're really not good for anything .

I catch blow fish in the surf. Strip them like a cat and there's 2 strips of meat going down the back. Not the same as Toad Fish.

Same in NC. I couldn't remember the whole name. I knew it was oyster something. Ever have a time where your mind just won't work. Brain Fart I guess.

Not that I want to catch any, where in NC did you catch them? I fish the Pamlico haven't seen any. Many years ago in the Chesapeake was my only encounter.

Not poisonous just have dirty spines like catfish.

Here on the Chesapeake Bay we call sand sharks dog fish. The fish shown we call oyster toads. The fish that blow up we call blow toads which are great eating and easy to clean. Mike

I used to catch the hell out of em on New River, when I was stationed at MCAS New River Air Station. My boss kept them and said they were good eating, but definitely keep your digits out of its mouth.
