I will be coming to Colorado this July help my cousins to learn to fish and will be fishing either Dillon Reservoir or Grand Lake area. Most likely the Grand Lake area. Could anyone give me some advice on what to use lure or bait wise& which area would be best for taking someone who has never fished before? I will be teaching them casting tying hooks on etc. The only fishing I have done there is the stream going through Winter Park/ Fraser area and St Louis Creek years ago flyfishing so I can use all the advice I can get. Thank you,
Joe

Thank you Whitey and I hope someone can give me some advice. My cousins are really excited about this and I would love for them to catch some fish.
I fished Dillon off the piers East of the dam and had luck with pink Rooster Tail inline spinners for rainbows early in the morning. Others were fishing from the shore with live bait, but I didn’t see much success from them. There was some fish working the surface the last hour before sunset so I would imagine flies would work then. Good luck!
