So I’m going fishing for the first time tomorrow and I want to know how to identify good spots when I walk up to a pond or small lake? Also I’m using a hook and worm, basic I know but is there any tips? Such as making the worm sink or float? Thanks in advance

look for any overhanging foliage and fish near, if nothing start moving and casting bait out, use a small amount of weight to get the bait down

Sometimes I inject the worm with air using a hypodermic needle to make it float up from the bottom making the offering more visible.

To make it sink put a small split shot weight on the line just above the hook.

Does injecting air into the worm really increase your chances for a bite? How much and on the end middle or top??

In addition to skipping or flipping/pitching under overhanging foliage, also target the perimeter (and in the middle of, if you're confident of your casting skills) of lay downs and brush piles, and along grass lines. Fish like structure and use it for cover, often waiting in ambush for their next meal. They also suspend off points if they're schooling.

Taduyser, i inject air into the worm or night crawler in two or three places. Whatever it takes to fill it up with air and make it plump. Whether or not it actually increases the chances of a bite is debatable. But I do know for a fact that it makes the critter float for quite a few minutes.

Dont matter taduyser it's just a small bubble to keep the worm off the bottom so the fish have a better chance of seeing it
