I was thinking that 15lb would be good but I'm not too sure. What do you guys think I should use?

I would say as light as you can see to tie a knot in it. That's what I use. I'm old and my eyes and hands do not work like they used to. There are several versions of nano braid - comes in 2 pound test and maybe even lighter. That's what I'd use if I could see it. You want to use 15, you're not going to be able to cast as far as with the lighter stuff, and you're probably going to have to use a light fluorocarbon leader.
Spiritof27 is correct if really panfishing then 2lb fish is exception. Braid is meant to go with smaller diameter and still get great test strength. So a 3-5 lb braid will be very stealthly-they wont see as easy and more test than need. Good luck
I would not go over 4# 15# is way to heavy and you will catch less fish
I donโt go over 2lb mono unless Iโm fishing heavy cover.
Braid as backing? I just use my trout set up.., ultra light spinning set up with 4-6lb line..,
Lighter the better 6 lb works great
Wouldn't 15lb braid be about the same size as 4 or 6 lb mono???
If you are fishing in a brush pile maybe? I use 2 & 4 lb monofilament.
If you want to have a lot of fun, I use #6 flyrod with a 2# tippet. It is like fighting a tarpon.
I use 30# braid on all my reels for all lures but top water and then it is 50# and I use straight braid that works for me! I throw light lures on a open face!

I wouldn't necessarily use braid for panfish. HOWEVER, 8# braid is the dia. of 2# mono and it casts a mile with light lures.
I use 8lb braid for stuff like that. It's very thin stronger than mono n a lot less memory. I like power pro. Now they have super slick. Like any line some braid is stiffer than others. ๐๐
I am also a 30 pound braid and high vis braid at that for everything fresh water, but my exception is that I use 60 for pitching. I can not see or manipulate smaller line with my eyes and hands. I now use 12# fluorocarbon tippet for most fish from ultra clear water kokanee through silver salmon in the river. I have not seen my catch fall off nor am I often out fished by buddies that the micro fine stuff. I believe the right presentation with the right offering is fare more important than the line size. I am taking about conventional fishing with conventional tackle that is matched up with size 8 or larger hooks. If panfish need smaller hooks than that, personally I prefer to wait for a bit bigger panfish to come along. Some common sense must apply as in all things. Fly fishing with miniature presentations requires miniature leader of course.
