New to the site. Moved to Weiss lake last of December. Like to crappie fish. Have only been able to catch them on minnows. Would like to know a good artificial bait to catch them on. I’ve used a lot of plastic twister tail and beetle spin types of baits and not having any luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

You might try some small inline spinners like the old shysters (I think that's right It's been too long since I used those things) use to catch lots of fish for me.

Pink leadhead, white maribou(feathers)..1/16-1/8 oz jig under a bobber. Could tip the hook w/ a small piece of worm.

Soak/Marinade your plastics in Garlic, and try crappie nibbles Chartreuse work well for me I use Black and Chartreuse tube body's for the most part.

I have done very well with this bait. Crappies love it. Suspend it about 4 ft down on a bobber with or without a small minnow.

Whistler jigs with tube for dressing or Mimic Minnows. Both work well....fish them slow.
