How do you put soft and mushy dough bait on your hook. It just seems to smear everywhere and doesn't stay on.

Cut up a kitchen sponge into 1/2 in by 1 inch long pieces , wet it and after squeezing out the water force the bait into it ! You can do multiple baits by placing many pieces and the bait into a baggie and working it all together.

Fishing for trout, use a size 14 or even a smaller size 16 treble hook. Roll the dough into a small ball and put it on the treble hook and squeeze it on tight covering the whole hook.

Buy already made up dough bait. It is little squares that are firm when introduced to water. Dip your hooked up bait in water. Then cast it out. Tip it with a marshmellow or worm for extra a boost of flavor. Lots of people use trout scent from walmart that jazzes the bait too.

Well, I've never heard of that one but with the $ they charge it could stretch the fishing budget as well and single hooks are way cheaper than trebles Thanks

Make sure your hands are dry. Wet fingers make it impossible to form the bait firmly
