Yes it was Detroit River, and I am not versed in the species of Sturgeon. The river connects the Great Lakes, basically Lake Huron to Lake Erie with Lake St Claire in between. I know some sturgeon live in Salt water and spawn in fresh water rivers? Not sure. Just sayin!😳

Had to chuckle at the copy written with the 240lb one, especially the "one of the largest ever caught" tag.. At that weight and length ? hardly think so...... LOTS AND LOTS of MUCH bigger... on both specs. And yes, they are quite old by the time they get that big, ancient by the time they get to be 8'-10' (and I have seen pictures of several even larger, a century ago) and 400-600lbs+, like we see/hear about on the Columbia each year. We have 240lb'rs in the Rogue !

YEP!
