No. They end the last week of November. That's when the season ends. But, others say it's open year around now. And the restrictions end after November.

I have heard year round recently. But l know years ago the season started in June. And l go up the Tioga pass and fish in June

I think that's mono county and its always started the last Saturday in April and ends the last Saturday in November. Same for inyo county. Yes your right, some areas are open your around like the Owens river and some others.

Don’t know about this year, but a couple of years ago Ca DFW made a big effort to tell folks if u put scent on any lure or fly, even in the ocean, you are bait fishing and must stick to the rules governing or disallowing bait.

I don't know anything about that but it doesn't surprise me at all.
There's been changes almost every year in the past 5-10 years.

To reduce the catch numbers. Last fall they did similar thing on Wa state coastal rivers for Steelhead to reduce catch.

As far back as i can remember which probably isnt very long🤔🤔its pretty much been that way up there, certain streams or sections of rivers are barbless and closed in winter.
