We are staying at Grand Ely Lodge and they have canoes to use free to fish on Sagawa (spelling) lake. Does anyone know of lakes around Ely that rent canoes on a daily basis to fish their lake? Thanks for the help.

Ely is the largest canoe outfitting location in the United States.
There are several canoe outfitters in Ely. Google Ely outfitters and you will be overwhelmed by the choices.
Packsack Canoe on Fall Lake, North Country Canoe on White Iron Lake, Moose Track Adventures on Farm Lake are a few on actual lakes, but there are many outfitters in town you can rent canoes from and take to whatever lakes you want.
In the BWCA you may need permits for many of the lakes though (at least to camp on), so do you homework before you go. Grand Ely Lodge will also be able to give you information.
