From my rogue years...

Telephoning channel cat.....possibly the most criminal fun I had as a teen....standard equipment was a pos jonboat, 6volt fence charger, battery, and 2 cables, 1 dragging the bottom and 1 about 2' deep, and some crazy azzes with dipnets, float the river and be ready. While that shiz was an incredible thrill, I did manage to see where the fish were and that surprised me

Mornin', Sinker. The DNR does that to get a trout count. But, I think it is done in a more controlled environment.

Used to do electroshocking in the Conestoga creek (a tributary of the Susquehanna river) back in my college years. Used a generator and had 2 electrodes that looked like large tennis rackets. We’d then stand downstream and net the fish that were shocked for counts and identification. Once put a large sucker down a girl’s waders that I particularly admired. Didn’t work out so well for me

How long does it stun them for?

How long does it stun them for and on what setting?

Need to do it to a buddies pond just to show him it is over populated.

EOZ, I really didn’t know the voltage or amperage, professor took care of all of that. I do however recall that we had to retain the fish for several minutes before they were able to recover.

TWRA stuns fish here on Tim's Ford for fish and species count, they'll stun, count and deposit in large tanks for 15 min. or so then release back where they came from.

Might want to check your states regulations on shocking fish. It would be cheaper than getting a ticket if it is illegal in your state.

It was definitely illegal, but fun. They'd come to the surface, zip around all over and were not easy to net. The fun part was jumping out of the boat and trying to chase them down, we never got that many. The most surprising thing was where they were, almost always in shallow fast riprap, places where we never legally fished
