Hello everybody, I am considering buying the best bait casting rod on the market.whch one do y'll recommend and why ? I have done the background on most if not all of them but cannot decide on which one to buy. I have also consider the fact that I Am still learning this game and does it make sense to make this. Kind. of investment at this time. I always try to level the playing field of my mind over my needs and my want. All recommendation and advice is highly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Might want to check these out also if your budget is high enough for Edge.
Tsunami Surf Rods.
TSTIISS1002MH 10' 2 piece 15 - 30lb 3 - 6 oz
TSTIISS1102H 11' 2 piece 20 - 40lb 4 - 6 oz

I have the 7 foot one and it casts (Open face) almost as far as my 9 foot surf rod. Don't remember the name of it. LOL Had it many years, like 20 years.
Otherwise for the price Ugly Sticks are much lower in price if you shop around.

Closest I could find for the 9 foot one is this.
https://tanglingwithcatfish.com/Online-Store/Product-Details/ProductName/monster-rod

The 9 foot I have is a "Monster rod". Can't find it on line any more. The 7 foot Tsunami has 8 Eyelets and casts almost as far as the 9 foot surf rod. The more eyelets on the rod the less line slap/drag so it casts further.
Have pulled up a 4 foot wide skate with the 9 foot, bent good though. LOL happy to say the hook tore out after I got it to the surface. Did that fishing from a pier on the Severn river by Annapolis, MD.

Capt Lou knows his stuff. G. Loomis sold out to Shimano in 1997, but G. Loomis rods are still made in the USA in Woodland, WA. and they are very good rods. If I wore you, and I have no idea how much money you have, but I would talk to a rodcrafter to see how much it would cost to make you one just like you wanted. He will make you a better rod than you can buy from any sporting goods store and for less money.

Get ya one of those custom fishing sticks! If your gonna use braid, have rod builder put on special braid guides too! Less wind knots! They can build one just as good as the super sensitive premium rods with custom wraps and insignia!

Get the one with the computer(chip) inside the reel. Suppose to cut backlashes by over 1/2. That would be cool for someone with a lot of experience but I think a must for people that don't have a lot of experience. When you get let me try it so I will know what using one feels like as I dream about having one. lol

BillByrd: If it has a chip in it, then it has to have a battery. Unless it uses the magnet type for speed. With a baitcaster as soon as the hits the water, stop the spool. That will stop almost all birds nests. Only other time it will occur is if it has a bind in the line in the reel or line twists. Started with Penn reels then went to a Zebco 33 and then to Open face reels. The only time I use the Penn reels anymore is for off a pier or boat, which I can't afford. ; ) The Clicker works really nice on those.
