Good mornin' Wcrance, welcome to the Forum, I have been to Apalachicola a few times, once to the OysterFest. A fun time, and a nice little city. I have never fished in that area, but live shrimp and ghost shrimp is my 'go to" bait on the Gulf shoreline for trout and reds.
Thanks. Hard to go wrong with either of those .
I just got back from a trip to Steinhatchee which is south of there. We caught specs and puffer fish on small mirror lures and pin fish. Puffer fish are very good, but check internet on how to clean. They have a small poison gland at the rear of their head. Live shrimp are always good.
Canβt help you wit surf fishing.
Good luck.
Thanks. Love to fish Steinahatchee. Some great trout caught there.
Sand fleas on a pompano rig works great. You will need a sand flea rake.
The picture of me is on Dog Island.
I've never fished the cut between dog and st. george but know some guys who have done well there.
How about you?
Me neither. Just the surf.
