Looking for bass fishing spots

I have done a lot of small mouth and large mouth bass fishing in Lake Champlain (Vermont) but a novice here in Texas. I currently am without a boat which I know is a huge handicap but I'm hoping I can find some places to fish from the shore. I've been to Decker Lake, Stillhouse Lake, Lake Buchanan, Granger Lake, Canyon Lake, Inks Lake not to mention various smaller "ponds". Nothing caught but small, no make that tiny fish that would be suitable for a fish tank. I am hoping to locate a few spots that have potential until I can afford a boat.

Depends on the temperature of the water. Look for areas of cover, weeds, lay downs.

Hello fellow northerner. What brings you out of beautiful new England. Try looking for the state parks in your area. You can fish, camp swim. Shore fishing is not that plentiful in this area. Lots of water, just access is tough. Much of shore line is private. But be careful in water here. Snakes, and not the good kind are everywhere. And gaters.

Lived on Long Island and Poughkeepsie, NY most of my life with very frequent vacations on Grand Isle, VT where I have done 99% of my bass fishing (I have a boat in VT). Was tired of the cold so I moved south and enjoy it here but miss the fishing. There is good bass fishing in Texas, I guess I will just need a boat to get to them.
